Psychodynamic Strategic Reflection
In classic strategic work, the main focus is on thinking about the business model, further developing a company’s existing core competencies and establishing and developing markets and products. This reflective work is generally conducted at a top management level and is often accompanied by large-scale strategic consultancy. These consultancy processes, assisted by a large amount of external market expertise and the relevant data collections, often fail to take the company’s history and the very specific individual view of the company’s reality into account.
The thought processes within the company are not only fed by data and facts worth combining. They are, of course, also influenced by the personalities and team environment of the top management team, as well as the cultural and historic background of the company. Corporate intuition and gut instinct similarly play a key role but are neglected in classic strategy work. We therefore frequently receive enquiries when the plans are on the table but the implementation process does not seem to work and the new strategy cannot get off the ground. NAGEL & COMPANY integrates these partly emotional, partly irrational and partly historic or even biographic aspects into the strategic process, thus creating an implementable and accepted corporate strategy.
