Change processes within a company are often the result of strategic re-orientation or a strategic decision. Changes at larger companies, however, cannot be organised but instead require a suitable framework that, on the one hand, incorporates the staff at the various levels into the design process. On the other hand, it must ensure that the antagonism, fears and concerns within the company are taken seriously and integrated.

A pre-planned change process is initially successfully prevented by a company’s middle management. Through integration, the establishment of relevant work groups, addressing antagonism and fears and ensuring open project communication, the middle management can be convinced of the benefits of the process, meaning that the project can, after 2 years, be considered to be a successfully completed transformation with positive effects that remain visible even after several years.
An imminent change process regarding an international issue has been successfully prevented by a company’s senior management over a period of 1.5 years. The task was initially to broach the issue of the company’s orientation and then to use an extensive range of accompanying measures to prepare the individuals and work groups for the relevant changes and to involve them.
